QUAIL CREEK GOLF COURSE LOCAL RULES
Print Local Rules
- Fill divots and repair ball marks – yours and others.
- Rake bunkers and replace the rakes in the bunkers after use.
- Place used tees and trash in their respective containers.
- Respect the course and others who are playing
Golfers are encouraged to drive carts on the cart paths and to follow the 90-degree rule to play the course.
Golf carts are not allowed in the desert areas, waste areas, landscaped areas, washes, or within 30 feet of the green.
Carts must remain on the paths on all Par 3’s and follow all directional signs throughout the course.
Distance measuring devices are allowed.
- EMBEDDED BALL- Rule 25.2 A ball embedded in its own pitch in the ground through the green may be lifted, cleaned, and dropped without penalty as near as possible to the spot where it lay, but no closer to the hole.
- WATER HAZARDS- Rule 26. Yellow and Red stakes shall define the margin of the hazard. All river rock areas shall be played as lateral hazards whether marked or unmarked. For all river rock areas the margin of the hazard will be will be defined as the edges of these rocks. If a ball is hit toward or into these areas, there must be agreement from the other members of the group playing, at the point where the ball was played, that the ball must be known or virtually certain to be in the hazard. In that case, the ball need not be found to invoke RULE 26 Water Hazards. If the other members of the group playing do not agree that the ball is virtually certain to be in the hazard, then a provisional ball should be played. If the original ball is lost or is out of bounds, the provisional ball must be played. If the original is found in the hazard, the Rule 26 Water Hazards may be invoked. Quail # 8 - the drop area may be used as an additional option. Roadrunner # 4 - the drop area may be used providing it is not nearer the hole.
- OUT of BOUNDS-Rule 27-1 Defined by white stakes or the walls or borders indicating the private property of our homeowners, and beyond cart path behind Coyote #9 green. We recommend playing a provisional ball. (Rule 27-2) if you believe the original ball played may be out of bounds or lost. “COURSE REGULATIONS PROHIBIT RETRIEVING GOLF BALLS FROM PRIVATE PROPERTY.”
- IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS- Rule-24 Interference occurs when a ball lies in or on the obstruction, or so close to the obstruction that the obstruction interferes with the players stance or intended area of swing. Relief may be taken without penalty when not in a hazard at the nearest point, no closer to the hole. Bridges over washes not marked as hazard, retaining wire in washes, cart paths, curbing, railroad ties silt logs, tagged vegetation are immovable obstructions.
- BUNKERS- All bunkers on the course shall be treated as hazards. Waste areas on the right on Coyote # 3 and # 8 are not hazards
- STONES IN BUNKERS- In the interest of safety, stones in bunkers shall be treated as movable obstructions
- GROUND UNDER REPAIR – Rule 25: Ground under repair will be marked by white painted lines. Free relief may be taken from aerified holed and French Drains
